A report released by Times Higher Education has listed the best universities in Sub-Saharan Africa. The list aims to highlight higher education institutions in Africa as well as address the challenges of higher education in the region.
According to reports, the list is led by the University of the Witwatersrand located in South Africa, the University of Johannesburg takes second place while the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences located in Tanzania takes third place.
The report has shown that approximately two-thirds of participating universities are public institutions; a quarter of those colleges are private, non-profit organizations; and about one-tenth are private, for-profit organizations.
